Day 3

This also started with a jeep ride to Thorrent, followed by a gentle ascent to Tres Estelles, which did indeed have 3 stars on the summit. The walk was mostly  along what would once have been very well constructed tracks, presumably made by miners. These climbed along the steep sides of a wooded valley and were for first the most part easy to follow, except where they had fallen away. Some of us followed an alternative, possibly easier path down, so presumably there is an easier path up as well. A slight diversion on the way back took us to a preserved miners monument.

Butterfly. Any suggestions?Tres Estelles. Sally & Colin on way up.

Day 4

This was a rest day, so I enjoyed a simple 2 hour walk to St Martin du Canigou via Pic d'Alzina. The monastery is very beautiful and is occupied by the Community of the Beatitudes.

Here I must stop as there is a cat sitting on my keyboard hitting my nose to get my attention.
